Yvonne George
Sculptor
BA Ceramics, Grad Dip, Post Dip. Public Art
Receiving a BA in ceramics in 1986, I began Working as a production potter before establishing my own ceramic business two years later. In 1997 I changed mediums to metals completing a diploma of welding, as well as forging workshops. These days my main mediums are Steel, Bronze, and copper.
Since this time I have been developing a range of commercial products that I distribute around Australia and Export to Italy. I have and still do, produce a significant amount of private and commercial commissions per year.
My passion and inspiration comes from an observation and respect in capturing the qualities that define our landscape, manipulating both scale, texture, and subject. Re constructing elements of nature.
I have my own gallery workshop within the tourist complex at the Bendigo pottery, After working for many years in isolation I find the public reaction to my work helps keep my work accessible and grounded.
I have significant experience in creating sculptural works of art for the private and public realm, and am skilled at working with land developers and government bodies to project briefs have a good working relationship with engineers, foundries, engineers workshops and all relevant industries.
