Silvina Glattauer
Photographer & Printmaker
Silvi is a photographer and print-maker living and working in Melbourne with a photographic practice that extends from commercial, editorial to fine art photography. A founding member of the Baldessin Press Studio printmaking studio in the bush land of St Andrews, Silvi is recognized as an authority in the contemporary Photogravure process as well as working with a range of other alternative photographic processes that cross barriers between digital and the hand made.
Silvi’s mastery of the photogravure process enables her to take full advantage of its capacity to show fine gradations of texture, tone, light and shadow. Her images can capture the narratives implicit in found objects, as is evident not only in her photogravures, but also in her lush pigmented ink prints of “botanicals”.
Silvi has exhibited widely across Australia and overseas and her work is held in public and private collections.
