Jasper Knight
(b. 1978)
Visual artist
Sydney based artist Jasper Knight is a painter, sculptor and installation artist. He is considered one of just a few artists creatively moving forward in the post-pop tradition. His work is primarily constructed from plywood, perspex and cardboard boxes which draws a questionable line between the disciplines of both sculpture and painting. Since achieving several finalist nominations in recent years Jasper Knight is currently one of Australia’s most highly sought after emerging artists. The list of nominations include The Archibald Prize from 2005-2007, The Wynne Prize in 2005 & 2006, Redlands Westpac Art Prize (emerging), the Mossman Art Prize -2008, The Blake Prize, the ABN-Amro Prize, the Mossman Art Prize, the Helen Lempriere Prize and the Brett Whiteley Prize. Since 2007, Knight has held solo shows in Berlin, Paris, London and Hong Kong.
Jasper Knight is represented by Australian Galleries in Melbourne and Sydney and Greenhill Galleries, Perth.
