Keming Shen
Painter
Keming was born in Shanghai, China in 1954. He graduated from The Shanghai Light Industry College (Arts Department) in 1982 - his major subject being "Graphic Design". After graduation, he worked for The Shanghai Art Design Company as a Graphic Designer and also in his spare tine freelanced as an illustrator for a book publisher and two Shanghai newspapers.
Following that and before coming to Australia, he taught at The East China Normal University (Fine ArtsDepartment.). Upon arrival in Australia in 1988 he concentrated on Commercial Artwork - two and a half years as a Free-Lance Graphic Artist at the University of Melbourne Publications & Printing Services Design Studio and then full time for a further four years for two art companies as a designer & painter.
1995 he established his own Commercial Art Studio. In 2004 he recommenced painting (Fine Arts) and shortly after began teaching at "Jiotto Studio" in Fitzroy - specializing in Portraits and Still Life. In mid 2006 he started teaching at Malvern Artists' Society's Studio. In 2009 he started teaching at Brighton Artist Society.
