Steven Hamilton
Refraction-The apparent change in position of celestial objects caused by the bending of light rays entering the earths atmosphere; This aptly describes Steven Hamilton’s art.
Hamilton is an energetic young abstract artist, his paintings are highly expressive, favour red and are densely painted. Decisively rendered, and highly original in style Hamilton’s work is composed of inflected surfaces, the paintings are metaphors, he paints the world as he feels it, steeped in an on-going examination of philosophical discourse. His art is carefully orchestrated and have a heightened sense of play and movement.
Art provides the equilibrium to Steve’s day to day professional life and allows a necessary indulgence into selfish expression without boundaries. Steve uses techniques developed over time with no formal instruction, relying on self belief and intuition to formulate art from the world as he sees and feels it.
The journey of each piece follows no defined path, often with only a matrix of colors and a vision of form being the nucleus for new art. Steve’s art entwines numerous styles with abstract art; from abstract impressionism, themed abstracts, to nude forms on an abstract backdrop. Steve’s desire is to allure and seduce the viewer into his world of art, and to share his passion for art.
