Martin Gallagher    b.1945

Born in the UK to a family of merchant seamen & stevedores, Gallagher migrated from the UK to Australia in 1974 & worked for many years in the animation industry. In the company of Arthur Boyd (“I first met Arthur when returning his lost dog.”) Gallagher painted the Shoalhaven extensively during the early 1980’s & 90’s.

2005 – Gallagher’s Archibald entry was selected for showing in the Hidden Faces of the Archibald, Victorian Salon de Refuses exhibition at the Crown Towers, Southbank.
