Pierre Baroni b.1955
Pierre Baroni is a renowned Australian music industry photographer whose portraits have featured on the cover art of over 200 releases. His subjects range from legendary soul singers Ray Charles, James Brown, Mavis Staples, Isaac Hayes, Wilson Pickett and Solomon Burke to home-grown stars including Nick Cave, Jimmy Barnes, Archie Roach, Deborah Conway, Renée Geyer, Jimmy Little, Tina Arena, Vanessa Amorosi and Kate Ceberano.
When not capturing the glowing, knowing eyes that that have become his stylistic trademark, Baroni photographs his other passion, the naked form, alternating shows between his commissioned portraiture and his lyrical monochrome nudes.
2008 brings us to Pierre Baronis latest body of work, his entangled
Muse/Goddess/Nymph/Siren study, CAMILLE.
"Camille is a muse, a siren, a temptress, a goddess. We look at her and see not only Camile but also Pierre Baroni, a man with a distinctive eye for the truth in his subject, for the humour, the line, the elegance, the sensuality and beyond that, for the compelling nature of our murky depths." Deborah Conway. March, 2008.
